St. Jude's Church, Chelsea
St. Jude’s Church in Chelsea was designed by George and Henry Godwin and built in 1870 to accommodate 1,600 worshippers. The tower and spire were added in 1879. John Derby Allcroft, a wealthy glove manufacturer, financed the construction of the church.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
