Doll
Fashion doll with solid wax head and limbs on wire frame, moulded and painted hair and glass eyes. Doll wears a formal court dress of striped and brocaded silk with a wired skirt and is accessorised with a compass hanging at the waist.
Standing on wooden plinth, one of the doll's wax feet now missing.
Doll is featured in a 1986 Museum of London publication, 'Dolls', p.2. Doll is also featured in Hillier's, 'The History of Wax Dolls', p.41.
