Printed handbill announcing a 'Great Women's Demonstration' to be held at the Empress Theatre, Earl's Court Exhibition on December 7th, 1913. Organised by the Women's Social and Political Union the meeting was partly called to welcome Emmeline Pankhurst back from her fundraising lecture tour of America. Emmeline Pankhurst was due to make an appearance and speak at the meeting but, on her return to the UK, she was rearrested at the quayside and returned to Holloway prison to continue her three year sentence for incitement.
