Public Meeting. Wandsworth Town Hall.
Printed handbill announcing a public meeting to be held in support of 'Votes for Women' at Wandsworth Town Hall on Thursday May 9th 1907. The event, chaired by the local Councillor Digby Shillington, included speeches by leading members of the Women's Social and Political Union, Charlotte Despard, Sylvia Pankhurst and Flora Drummond and Mrs Winton Evans. Both Charlotte Despard and Mrs Winton Evans subsequently broke away from the WSPU later that year to become leading members of the Women's Freedom League.
