Votes for Women, Christabel Pankhurst, LL.B, will address a Public Meeting
Handbill issued by the Women's Social and Political Union announcing a Suffragette meeting to be held at the Queen's Hall Langham Place on Tuesday 22 December 1908. The meeting was to be addressed by Christabel Pankhurst on the day she was released from Holloway having served ten weeks in prison for conduct likely to provoke a breach of the peace. Queen's Hall was a regular venue for Suffragette meetings from 1908, including the weekly 'At Homes'. Capable of holding up to 1000 Suffragettes, ticket sales for such meetings, raised considerable funds for the campaign 'war-chest'. This flyer includes details of ticket prices and where they could be obtained.
