Printed Ephemera — 1908
Save the Bill!
Leaflet issued by the Women's Freedom League to branch members. Headed 'Save the Bill! the leaflet calls upon members of the WFL to write to the press, local MPs and Cabinet Ministers to bring pressure on the Government to allocate enough time in the parliamentary session to allow the Women's Enfranchisement Bill to be debated further. The leaflet was published immediately after H.Y. Stanger's women's suffrage bill had passed its second reading in the Commons by a majority of 178. Despite the efforts of the suffrage campaign and the support of many MPs the government refused to grant time to further the debate.
