Toy whistle
Tinplate penny whistle with lithographed monkey in red bell boy suit holding a knife over a grindstone. The long, gold painted whistle protrudes between the monkey's legs. The grindstone acts as a spinning feature as the whistle is blown. Probably made by Johann Distler. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 30th November 1906.
