Toy boy with butterfly net
Lithographed tinplate spring action toy boy with butterfly net. The boy is in a blue and white striped sailor suit holding aloft a blue butterfly net beside a red box with a yellow/blue butterfly printed on the sliding lid. Below is a rectangular base with spring action lever. As the lever is pulled the boy moves towards the butterfly on the box. The box also acts a candy or sweets container. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 21st December 1909.
