14 Reasons for Supporting Women's Suffrage
Campaign flyer published by the London Society for Women's Suffrage entitled '14 Reasons for Supporting Women's Suffrage'. The flyer probably dates from about 1910 the year the headquarters of the Society moved to 58 Victoria Street as noted in the flyer.
The London Society for Women's Suffrage was the new name given to the Central Society for Women's Suffrage when the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies was reorganised in 1907. The London Society had 62 member branches in London and its suburbs and by 1912 had a membership of 4000. In 1909 the London Society was forced to repel, at its annual general meeting, an attempt by militants to capture it and thereafter was firmly non-Party, constitutional and law-abiding as noted on the flyer.
