Printed Ephemera — 1912-1914
Men and Women. Note these Facts!
Suffragette propaganda leaflet headed 'Men and Women. Note these Facts!' Issued by the Women's Social and Political Union and printed in their purple, white and green colourscheme the leaflet gives a Suffragette view of government policy and attempts to justify the growing militancy and violence of the WSPU campaign by asking 'Do you wonder that women have ceased to respect or obey this cowardly government?' In particular the leaflet outlines the contrast between the Asquith government's seemingly lenient policy towards campaigners in Ireland, with that of the hard line response to Suffragette militancy.
