Prehistoric — Early Bronze Age
Urn, collared urn
Small collared urn of ochreous-brown colour with bird-bone marks on the collar and the carination. Vessels of this type were often used as containers for cremated human bone. It was found in 'blackened sand, nothing in it or with it' near another Bronze Age burial urn at Ham gravel pits, Richmond-upon-Thames.
