Coin, nummus AE1
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Tiberius II Constantine, ruler of the Byzantine Empire, AD 574-582. This coin was minted in Antioch (modern day Antakya, Turkey), AD 578-582.
Obv: Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Tiberius II, facing front, holding a sceptre over his left shoulder. Obv inscription: Illegible. Rev: A large central M. Rev inscription: ANNO U in field, THEUP in exergue.
