Watch, verge watch
Gold pair cased verge watch number '2227'. Plain gold inner case with winding hole and hinged bezel. Casemaker's mark 'HD' & duck symbol, possibly refers to Henry Duck. Gold outer case, bezel & band decorated with lozenge and flowers. Scalloped rims to the bezel and band. On the back a design incorporating swags of drapery and flowers surrounding a central medallion containing a shield with three cinquefoils. Below the shield is a palm wreath. Gilded brass dial plate with three feet. Enamel replacement dial with golds hands and an outer ring of dots for the minutes with a line at each five minute divisions.
