Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Nero, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 54-68. The back of the coin depicts the Temple of Janus. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 64-68.
Obv: Laureate head of Nero, facing righ. Obv inscription: NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GER PM TR P [IMP PP]. Rev: The façade of the Temple of Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and transitions. Rev inscription: PACE PR TERRA M[ARIQ P]ARTA IANVM CLVSIT, SC in field.
