Tin, lunch tablet tin
Tin used as packaging for Horlick's malted milk lunch tablets. The tablets, that dissolved in the mouth, were marketed as a 'vest pocket lunch for busy people'. The production of such 'fast food' snacks reflected the quickening pace of daily life in the modern 'machine age' capital. Lunch was now often taken 'on the move' as commuters and travellers rushed from place to place.
