Social History — 1969-1975
Lampshade
Biba first sold household goods in 1969 when it opened its store in Kensington High Street. As well as wallpaper and paint, cutlery and crockery, the store stocked soft furnishings including sheets and lampshades. When the business moved to the site of the old Derry & Toms Department store in 1973, the household and interior department on the fourth floor included 24 room sets.
