Pistol, flintlock pistol
As flintlock weapons were prone to misfire in damp conditions, pistols were often fitted with a spring bayonet. The bayonet was activated by pulling the trigger guard backwards, which released the lethally sharp blade at high speed. This pistol has a 'box lock' firing mechanism with the flash pan on the top rather than the side of the gun.
