Trade card, invoice
Copper-engraved trade card with handwritten invoice on the reverse issued by the haberdasher and pattern drawer Joseph Spilsbury located at the sign of the The Royal Point, in York Street, Covent Garden. The card includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a needlepoint design incorporating flowers and a royal crown. Below is printed a list of the services and goods supplied, including 'calicoes, muffs, pins, needles, sewing silks, fine thread & common cat gut; fine, plain & frosted gimps for lace'. The invoice handwritten onthe reverse of the trade card of the sheet refers to the supply of a feather muff and tippet in January 1758.
