Printed Ephemera — 1751-1752
Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by Hannah Mumford, located at the sign of the Harlequin and Pierot, Tavistock Street, Covent Garden. The billhead includes the tradesman's sign of a harlequin and pierrot within a circular medallion. Dated July 1751-April 1752 the invoice refers to the supply of a a number of goods including a hoop, coats and fabric supplied to Mrs Hucks. This business was previously run by John Mumford but was taken over by Hannah between May 1750 and July 1751. Presumably Hannah was the wife, widow or daughter of John.
