Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the haberdasher Francis Flower, located at the sign of the Rose & Woolpack at the corner of King Street, Holborn. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a woolpack surmounted by a flowering rose on a stem enclosed within a decorative cartouche. Dated 21st July 1757 the invoice refers to the supply of mitts to Mrs Hucks. Mitts were elbow length, fingerless gloves.
