Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the haberdashery firm of William and Jonathan Jones and William Cross located at the sign of the Sun and Falcon against Field Lane, Holborn. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a beaming sun within a frame surmounted by a falcon. Dated 12th January 1759 the handwritten invoice refers to the supply of a cloak. This firm was previously run as a partnership between Barrett Walkwood and William Jones.
