Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the haberdasher and pattern drawer Joseph Spilsbury, located at the sign of the Royal Point in York Street, Covent Garden. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a needlepoint design incorporating a royal crown. Dated January 21st 1761 the invoice refers to the supply of goods to Mrs Hucks. Both the engraved and handwritten script is in English round hand.
