Bone, pinner's bone
Pinner's bone. Bovine metatarsal, left side, proximal end. The shaft towards the distal end has seven facets, with two deep grooves cut into the longitudinal axis in the medial and lateral side by a saw. The proximal surface is damaged and a piece has broken away. There are file marks on every side. The holes at the proximal and distal ends have been enlarged.
