The image shows individuals taking it in turns to examine a piece of jewellery before bidding begins. Another individual is holding out a tray to pass the jewellery around in. The typed caption attached on the reverse reads 'Sotheby's. The piece of jewellery is brought round for examination before the bidding for it starts.'
