Gelatin silver print, part of the Henry Grant photographs collection. From a group of images of Imperial College of Science and Technology Commemoration Day at the Royal Albert Hall, 22/10/1959. The image shows individuals sitting down wearing academic gowns and hats. The typed caption attached on the reverse reads 'Commemoration Day of Imperial College. Presentation of Parchments to the new Fellows of Imperial College was one of the highlights of the ceremony held in the Royal Albert Hall. Here, from right to left, are five of the distinguished men who received this academic distinction in 1959, seated in the front row of the main body of the hall. Sir Lewis Casson, Sir Graham Cunningham, Sir Christopher Ingold, Dr. L.B. Pfeil and Mr. R. McKinnon Wood.'
