Early medieval London cemeteries
Excavations across London have revealed early medieval burials.
The people of early medieval and Viking London continued to use the Roman city, but also settled to the west, with particular focus in an area which today is known as ‘the Strand’. A number of burials and small cemeteries have been found, including a weapon burial of an adult male and on the foreshore of the River Thames, the execution burial of an older adult female.
