Box, dressing case
The top layer of workbox NN18716a, made up of a wooden silk lined tray with fifteen thin wooden boxes covered in silk and decorated with embroidery and foil. There should have been a central circular box, which is now missing, which the other boxes are shaped to fit around this. The detachable lids of each box are decorated with a different floral pattern or bird, with adhered feathers.
