Funeral of the 'Derby' Suffragette. Dramatic re-arrest of Mrs Pankhurst
Black and white photograph of funeral of the 'derby' suffragette, the dramatic re-arrest of Mrs Pankhurst, typescript reads, 'On leaving the flat in Westminster Mansions to attend the funeral of Miss Davison, to-day, Mrs Pankhurst was arrested and taken to Holloway. Photo shows the actual arrest of Mrs Pankhurst, Detective Inspector Riley (wearing bowler hat0 is seen with another officer detaining Mrs Pankhurst as she leaves the flat. Onthe left is seen the footman holding open the door of her carriage, which was to convey her to the funeral of the derby Suffragette (which of course, she was prevented from attending) and on the right is seen Mrs Pankhurst's nurse. Dressed in white with black bands and gloves is seen a suffragette watching her arrest.' There is also an ink note on the page which reads Sat 2pm June 14 1913. Pencil note reads ' Sister Pine'.
