Printed Ephemera — 1951
Leaflet
Leaflet produced by the London boroughs of Hackney, Camberwell and Lambeth advertising tours of the localities for the Festival of Britain, 1951. The boroughs were keen to show the benefits of their democratic local government. This is referred to as 'the first line of defence thrown up by the community against our common enemies - poverty, sickness, ignorance, isolation and social maladjustment'. The leaflet is addressed to anyone interested in self government, including 'citizens of any country in the world'.
