Hungerford Suspension Bridge
Hungerford Suspension Bridge, circa 1845 shortly after it opened. This was a footbridge built by I K Brunel to serve the Hungerford market, which was demolished in 1860 to make way for Charing Cross station. Two of the piers survive under Hungerford railway bridge, built in 1864; the chains were re-used in the Clifton suspension bridge.
