Mr Freer as Timour the Tartar
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir sheet engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr Freer in the role of Timour the Tartar. Published jointly by Arthur Park (Old Street) and J.Golding (61 Oakley Street). The plate is embellished with metal foil tinsel ornaments on the hat, clothing and sword. The components were usually purchased for the purpose and tinselling theatrical portraits was a popular activity to do within the home.
