Photograph of Suffragette Hannah Mitchell addressing a crowd. Hannah was a skilful public speaker and undertook suffragette speaking tours in the North East as well as London. In 1907 Hannah had become a paid organizer for the Women’s Social and Political Union in Oldham. Her autobiography ‘The Hard Way Up’, was published in 1968, 12 years after her death.
