Printed Ephemera — 1918-1928
La Justice Electorale; Voting Justice
Pro-female suffrage propaganda postcard produced and sold by the Bibliothèque Féministe, feminist bookshop in Paris. The postcard with text printed in French and English is headed 'La Justice Electorale; Voting Justice' and illustrated with two contrasting images that expose the injustice of the current voting system in France. On the left are depicted two drunken men captioned as 'voters', on the right, in contrast, two respectable women and a child in a peaceful domestic setting are, identified as 'non voters'.
In France women did not obtain the right to vote in Parliamentary Elections until 1944.
