The Plough
Henry Yeo issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Plough, in Fleet Lane (now Old Fleet Lane).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1063. Obv inscription: HENRY.YEO.HIS.HALFE. PENNY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three hanks of silk [Boyne has 3 halters] (in field); Rev inscription: AT.THE.PLOVGH. IN.FLEET.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A plough (in field).

Fleet Lane (now Old Fleet Lane), runs off Farringdon Street. Fleet Bridge ran between Fleet Street and Ludgate Hill, over the River Fleet, in the ward of Farringdon Without, in the City of London.
