The Peter and Paul
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at St Peter and St Paul, at St Paul's Cathedral.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2725; Obv inscription: F.H.AT.ST.PETER.AND (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Bust of St Peter with the keys (in field); Rev inscription: ST.PAVLE.AT.ST.PAVLES.CHVRCH (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Bust of St Paul with sword (in field).
The issuer is Francis Hanson, who was the proprietor of the Turk's Head, see Fire Court: Calendar to the Judgments and Decress of the Court of Judicature appointed to determine Differences between Landlords and Tenants as to rebuilding after the Great Fire, ed.
