Coin, radiate
A silver radiate coin of Emperor Valerian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 253-260. The back of the coin depicts Fides, the Roman goddess of trust. This coin was minted in Gaul, AD 253-260.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and radiate bust of Valerian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG. Rev: Fides, standing left, holding two military standards. Rev inscription: FIDES MILITVM. Part of a hoard from Fenchurch Street, City of London, 1926.
