Post-Medieval — 15th century; early 16th century
Corpus figure of Christ
Figure of Christ crucified, but with the cross missing. It is very roughly moulded with very little body articulation displayed. The back is not moulded at all. Christ wears a loin cloth and has his feet crossed with the hole going through both of them. His arms are raised with a hole in each hand. The image of Christ crucified reminded people of their faith. Small crucifixes were kept in the home and larger ones displayed in public areas.
